Thanks for being on the way with me as we untangle the mess we’ve made of God’s love!
Life is about being on the way. Sometimes we know the destination, but at other times we can be surprised by where we end up.
I’m a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, Grammy, world traveler, special education teacher, pastor, and a beloved Child of God.
Both of my parents and all of my grandparents are deceased. My sister lives with her family, about an hour away from us. My husband, Bob, and I were married in Aug. 1979. We have two adult daughters, three grandchildren, and a beloved dog, Harley.
I graduated from East Carolina University in 1981 with a B.S degree in Education and North Carolina State University with a Master of Adult Education in 1994.
I’ve taught in public and private school settings, worked as a Girl Scout professional, and as a teacher in a mental health facility. I’ve worked in state and local government as a Human Resources professional focused on teaching adults how to play nice at work.
I’m a baptized child of God who was christened at the First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC; baptized in a Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida, and confirmed at Our Redeemer Margarita, a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation in the Canal Zone on the Atlantic side of Panama.
I’ve been a member of several different Lutheran congregations and in July 2002 entered the seminary at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. I graduated with honors and earned a Master of Divinity degree in May 2006. I was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in August of that same year.
I’ve been blessed to serve as pastor at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Southern Pines, NC; St. Mark by the Sea Lutheran Church, Palm Coast, FL.; and at St. Philip Lutheran Church in Raleigh, NC. Currently, I’m serving as an interim pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamlet, NC. The people in these congregations welcomed me into their lives and gave me opportunities to journey with them for a season. It was a privilege to serve as their pastor. I thank God for these faith communities and the ministries we’ve shared.
